Homeowners and staff at McCarthy and Stone’s Somers Brook Court and Silver Sands Court developments on the Isle Of Wight are inviting local people to join them for a very vintage affair with tea, cakes, and the nostalgic sounds of the 1950s and 1960s.
The vintage-inspired tea party at Somers Brook Court will take place at the Assisted Living development on Foxes Road on Saturday 11th February between 14:30 and 16:30 and is to raise money for the older people’s charity, Royal Voluntary Service.
Meanwhile in Bembridge, the Retirement Living development Silver Sands Court on Church Road will be hosting its vintage inspired tea party on Wednesday 18th February between 14:00 and 16:30.
In return for a small donation, there will be homemade cakes and scones, as well as live entertainment from Dave B who will be covering a medley of hits from some of the biggest legends of the past decades.
The celebrations are taking place to mark McCarthy and Stone’s 40th anniversary, which in 1977 saw the company open its very first retirement development, paving the way for the creation of an entirely new sector of the property market.
To honour this important milestone, McCarthy and Stone is partnering with Royal Voluntary Service throughout 2017; and the vintage tea parties at Somers Brook Court and Silver Sands Court are one of the first of a series of events planned for the year with the aim of raising over £130,000 to support the charity’s project across the South and the rest of the country. For every visitor Somers Brook Court and Silver Sands Court receive to the vintage tea party events, McCarthy and Stone will be donating £10 to the Royal Voluntary Service to kick start the fundraising process.
The vintage tea parties are expected to be busy and spaces will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. To book your place at one of the events call 0800 310 0383.
