UPDATED: A man has been caught on CCTV causing damage to a large number of cars in the Kent Avenue area of East Cowes this morning (Tuesday), prompting Police to investigate.
At around 06:50 a man, described as middle-aged, was caught on camera using a sharp object to cause damage to vehicles parked on the street, including a brand new 16-plate Ssangyong Rexton.
The incident has been reported to Hampshire Constabulary, however victims say it is proving difficult to link all of the damage to one individual.
It is currently thought that over 20 vehicles have been keyed in Kent Avenue, Princess Close and York Avenue.
UPDATE – A 41-year-old male from East Cowes has been arrested on suspicion of causing damage to 18 vehicles.
He has been bailed until 20th June pending further enquiries.
