The Isle of Wight Gin Company has announced that 4 of its handcrafted small-batch spirits have received medals at the internationally respected 2025 London Spirits Competition, an event that celebrates spirits with exceptional taste, design, and drinkability.
All 4 Spirits won the medals via blind tastings from a panel of international judges.
Now in its 8th year, the competition is judged by leading bartenders, buyers, and industry experts who score each entry not just on flavour, but also on originality and consumer appeal. Among a global field of entries, Isle of Wight Gin stood out for its quality and distinctive approach to flavour design.
Awarded Spirits
- Gigglemug Gin – Silver Medal
A zesty, uplifting gin full of grapefruit, lemon balm and lime leaves and good cheer. Light, fresh, and impossible to frown at. - Lufsum Gin – Silver Medal
Crafted to evoke love and warmth, this floral and gently dry gin is designed to be subtle, romantic and elegant. The beautiful blend of florals rose and hibiscus and raspberry and pomegranate. - Donkey Sanctuary Hedgerow Gin – Bronze Medal
A wild, herbaceous gin inspired by the donkey’s favourite food the island’s hedgerows. This is a blend of blackberry, elderberry and hawthorn creating a beautiful smooth taste of the island. This gin is created in partnership with the Donkey Sanctuary charity. - Rocken End Navy Rum – Silver Medal
Full-bodied, unapologetically smooth, spiced with honey and island-grown spice and botanicals, a navy-strength rum with deep flavour and moorish character.
At its home in Godshill, the Isle of Wight Gin Company distils more than spirits, it distills emotions, story, and place into every bottle. Founded by the Jackman family, the distillery combines traditional techniques with a distinctly sensory-led creative process.
Co-founder Cris Jackman, has said:
“Our head flavour designer lives with synaesthesia.
“She experiences flavour and scent as colour and movement, which means we don’t just think in recipes, we think in balance, shape, and feeling. These awards are a wonderful recognition of that care and creativity.”
