A Cowes-based Digital Marketing Agency are taking part in a 24-hour gameathon to raise money for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.
The team of marketers will be swapping their notepads and laptops for Xbox’s, Playstation’s and TV screens to battle it out against each other in a collaborative team-effort game marathon spanning a whole 24 hours. The Gameathon will take place this Saturday (28th May).
The fundraisers will have to play consistently for the whole time period, with the only allowance being a short period for going to the bathroom. That means that the team will eat in-game, work in-game, talk to each other in-game and sleep? Well, that’s off the cards.
The Gameathon will take place in the Wightfibre office in Cowes, maximising use of their super high speed broadband which boasts 300MBps and 0 latency.
It’s an open invitation to any business or individual to come along and join in on the fun. Social Heroes would like to ask for a small donation on the JustGiving page and enjoy the challenge of
taking on the team.
Paul Magee, Managing Director of Social Heroes, said:
“We were inspired to do the Game-athon by our Design Manager, Dan, who completed one earlier this year on his own. We thought that it would be better with four rather than one, so myself, Dan, Sophie and Mike will all be taking part to raise money for a charity that’s very close to all of our hearts.
“We’d love it if other businesses could get involved and support us in our cause and help us raise some much needed money for a fabulous charity. We’ve already had an extremely generous donation from Domino’s Pizza, which will help keep the team fuelled!”
The team have set up a JustGiving page allowing anyone who wishes to support them in raising money for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance to donate. You can find the page here:
