An investigation has been launched by Hampshire Constabulary today following a fire in Thorness last night which destroyed over 200 wooden pallets.
Fire crews from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were called to Wippance Farm on Rolls Hill shortly before 00:30, where it was discovered that around 200 wooden pallets had been set on fire, which appeared to have been started deliberately.
Firefighters spent just over an hour tackling the blaze.
Police are now investigating the incident and ask for any witnesses to come forward by calling 101.
