A 29-year-old man from Newport was arrested after an alleged sexual assault against a woman in her 60s.
Police recieved a report at around 10:50 last Thursday (28th May) of a sexual assault against a woman in her 60s at an address in Newport.
The offence took place the night before at around 22:00.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has today (Wednesday) confirmed that a 29-year-old man from Newport was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault.
He has been bailed with conditions until 28th August while police continue their enquiries.
