Wight Eagles Ladies Academy teams hosted their first summer tournament at The Bay CE School in Sandown on Saturday, attracting more than 200 players and parents.
The event brought together Island and mainland sides for a day of girls’ football in the sunshine, with Wight Eagles enjoying success in both the Under 12 and Under 14 categories.
The tournament marked the club’s recent move to Sandown and featured a strong standard of football throughout, including 2 penalty shoot-outs.
Wight Eagles Chairman Mike Ross has said:
“It was a great way to celebrate our recent move to Sandown and we are immensely grateful to Chris Fletcher and his team at The Bay for helping us make it happen.
“The standard of football was very good and there were 2 penalty shoot-outs to add to the excitement!
“This was a great showcase for girls’ football on the Island. Our retiring Secretary Scott Ronan and his partner Sian pulled out all the stops and organised the event superbly.
