George Arathoon, 34, of Union Street, Ryde – admitted drug-driving offences after driving a Ford Transit in Union Street, Ryde, with cocaine metabolite benzoylecgonine and cannabis above the legal limits, and also admitted assaulting a man in Ryde. He was made subject to a community order until May 2028 with 150 hours unpaid work and up to 35 rehabilitation activity days, banned from driving for 24 months, ordered to pay £500 compensation and a £114 surcharge.
Louis Dauncey, 37, of no fixed abode, Newport – admitted stealing flowers worth £12 from the Co-op in Sandown, various goods worth £97 from Tesco Express in Newport, clothing worth £171.92 from TK Maxx in Newport, and trainers and socks worth £64.98 from Deichmann in Newport. He was ordered to pay compensation totalling £345.90, with no separate penalty imposed on one offence due to the matters being sentenced together.

Megan Startin, 34, of Albert Street, Ventnor – admitted three shop thefts in Newport involving goods stolen from Morrisons, Peacocks and TK Maxx worth more than £497 in total. She was made subject to a community order until May 2027 with 60 hours unpaid work and ordered to pay £85 costs.
Terrence Myles, 61, of Cavendish Place, Newport – admitted breaching sex offender notification requirements by failing to register a new bank card within the required time. He was fined £80 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £32 surcharge.
James Patton, 53, of Madeira Road, Ventnor – was convicted of driving an uninsured Audi in Madeira Road, Ventnor. He was fined £656, banned from driving for six months, given six penalty points, and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £262 surcharge.
Kyle Jones, 28, of Branstone Farm Lane, Branstone – admitted drug-driving after driving a Volkswagen Golf in Shanklin with ketamine above the legal limit. He was made subject to a community order until May 2027 with 80 hours unpaid work, banned from driving for 36 months and ordered to pay £85 costs.
Bailey Smith, 26, of no fixed abode, Leigh Road, Eastleigh – admitted stealing alcohol worth £14 from Sainsbury’s Local in Ryde and was ordered to pay £14 compensation.
Jamie Thomas, 43, of Southgrove Road, Ventnor – admitted multiple drug-driving offences involving cocaine and benzoylecgonine while driving a BMW in Ventnor and Newport, and also admitted possessing cocaine. He was made subject to a community order until May 2028 with up to 35 rehabilitation activity days, banned from driving for 36 months, fined £120, ordered to pay £170 costs, and the cocaine was forfeited and destroyed.
Harry Turnbull, 33, of Pyle Street, Newport – admitted possessing cannabis in Sandown. He was fined £80, ordered to pay £85 costs, and the cannabis was forfeited and destroyed.
Zachary Armiger, 29, of Crossway, Bembridge – admitted stealing beer, wine and food worth £42.55 from the Co-op in Sandown. He was fined £80 and ordered to pay £42.55 compensation, £85 costs and a £32 surcharge.
Jordan Dove, 33, of Surrey Street, Ryde – admitted drug-driving in Ryde with cannabis above the legal limit. He was fined £540, banned from driving for 16 months, and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £216 surcharge.
James Sanders, 64, of Shanklin Road, Godshill – admitted drink-driving in Ryde with 43 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. He was fined £500, banned from driving for 12 months, reducible by three months if he completes a drink-drive course, and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £200 surcharge.
Daniel Sweet, 34, of Village Way Caravan Park, Apse Heath – admitted possessing cannabis in Lake. He was fined £80, ordered to pay £85 costs, and the cannabis was forfeited and destroyed.

If they are banned from driving for 12 months, it should be INCREASED by 3 months if they don’t complete a drink-drive course.

Drink driving should = a 10 year driving BAN

If people don’t know by now that drink driving kills
what chance do law abiding motorists have for
safe roads, not to mention pedestrians.

Too many drugs on the island you can’t walk down the road without smelling it from properties and passing cars

Sadly there are not enough police to police it.
The smell is vile.

Enough is enough needs to get a life

Not a week that goes by that dont you have something to say.. probably some fat mess sat at home with fuck all else to do then run your mouth, alot of people also use cannabis for medication now.. alcohol is alot worse than abit of weed in my eyes.
