The Island Rivers Partnership has launched a grant programme, hosted by Natural Enterprise and funded by Southern Water, to back collaborative river catchment projects.
The new fund will support partnership efforts to develop and deliver new river catchment projects, as well as help to coordinate and strengthen projects already underway.
The fund is open for applications, with £50,000 available until March 2027, or earlier if the funding is fully allocated. Further funding rounds are expected. Partnership organisations, local stakeholders, landowners and land managers are invited to apply.
The fund is intended to support the priorities and objectives of the Island Rivers Catchment Partnership, including:
- Restoring habitats and protecting species
- Addressing physical modifications to rivers and streams
- Building climate resilience
- Managing water resources
- Improving water quality
Mariane Combe, Project Manager, Rivers and River Catchments, said:
“With funding from Southern Water, we are delighted to open this grant programme to support our island rivers and river catchments. We are looking for projects that demonstrate collaboration, clear environmental benefits and measurable outcomes for the Island’s rivers and river catchments”.
