Residents from across the Isle of Wight are being invited to attend the launch of the first official Your Party branch this weekend (Saturday) at Newport’s Quay Arts Centre.
The event, which begins at 17:30, marks the establishment of a new community organising hub on the island, bringing together local people interested in campaigning on issues affecting their communities.
Your Party says its local branches are designed to support and strengthen campaigns already taking place on the ground, from housing and public services to workers’ rights, anti-racism, international solidarity and community action.
The launch comes as members who joined before 12th May take part in elections for the branch’s first officer team, with the results set to be announced during the evening.
Representatives from Your Party’s national team will attend the event, while Jeremy Corbyn MP will address attendees via video link.
As part of the launch, local residents will be invited to participate in a Community Assembly, giving people the opportunity to discuss the issues facing the Isle of Wight and explore how collective action can help bring about change.
Organisers stress that attendance is open to everyone and that people do not need to be members of Your Party to take part.

Launch of the Isle of Wight Your Party Branch
Saturday 6th June 2026, 17:30
Quay Arts Centre, 15 Sea Street, Newport, Isle of Wight, PO30 5BD
People wishing to join Your Party can do so at: https://in.yourparty.uk/users/sign_up
Those interested are also welcome to simply attend on the evening and meet others involved in local community organising.
Chris White, a member of the organising group behind the new branch, said:
“The Isle of Wight has a strong tradition of people looking out for one another and standing up for their communities. We’re launching this branch because we believe local people should have more power to shape the decisions that affect their lives.
“This isn’t just about politics, it’s about bringing people together around the issues they care about, whether that’s housing, public services, the cost of living, protecting our environment, supporting workers’ rights or tackling inequality.
“We want this branch to be a welcoming space where people can organise, share ideas and take action together. Whether you’ve been politically active for years or have never attended a meeting before, we’d love to see you there.”

Ha,hahahahahahaha, what a joke.
God help us… a more left leftie than herr Starmer and his stormtroopers. I would attend but I am pushing needles into my nether regions that night.
I must off been asleep for months,April fools day again
I’m guessing video link because he can’t afford a decent tie, let alone the ferry fares
Best PM we never had.
JC would not have bowed down to Davos
he was tarnished by the globalists because they feared him.
He would have taxed the large corporations and would have been
their worst nightmare.
Such a shame that so many clueless numpties believe all the
crap about JC
Some people never learn.
Whenever there’s been a disaster whether it be flooding
etc, JC was there.
He supported the nurses etc etc.
Stop reading all the state controlled media about JC
they tell you what they want you to see.
At Glastonbury in 2017 JC was the King.
It just goes to show how persons can ruin ones reputation.
communist detected, opinion discarded
Oh God! Just when you think things can’t get worse……..
Think I might be there with my Union Flag protesting!! Much like the loony lefties do whenever Reform UK is about!!
You risk being arrested if you do. H&IW Constabulary do not like “far right” demonstrators.
Yet when Royals are prancing around it’s allowed.
I personally wouldn’t wave my union pants.
When you grow old you start to realise what a farce
it is.
We were once told the world was flat, then it was
round.
Personally I think the world is bent!
2020 proved that!
Cheers
Jeremy = peace unlike other politicians, he is also is a person
for “ALL” the people, not just the few!
