Whitefield Forest Touring Park, on the outskirts of Ryde, is celebrating a double national success after being named among the UK’s best campsites during its 20th season.
The family-run Isle of Wight holiday park has once again won the AA’s Campsite of the Year Award – the third time it has received the accolade in the past 20 years.
It has also been voted into Practical Caravan’s Top 100 Sites guide for the fourth consecutive year, with campers also choosing Whitefield Forest Touring Park as their regional winner following a string of positive reviews.
The park is run by family members Pat, Simon and Louise, alongside support from their 3 children outside of university, school and sporting commitments.
The trio say they work hard throughout the season to provide visitors with a quiet and relaxing base from which to explore the Isle of Wight, with many guests returning year after year.
The family has said:
“We have lots of regulars who come back to us every year because they love the Island and they love the park and the family feel we have on site.
“A number of our campers have made some good friends over the years and love to catch up with each other on their annual holiday.”
As part of ongoing investment into the business, the family redecorates the amenities block and reception building during the winter months while also maintaining the surrounding forest and environment.
In 2024, the site also introduced 2 new luxury lodges aimed at widening its appeal beyond traditional campers, caravan and motorhome owners.
The family has said:
“The idea being that other people who don’t have caravans, motorhomes or tents can stay on site too and that families can enjoy a holiday together.
“The lodges are also available all year round, and we have found a number of campers have enjoyed a cosy stay in the lodges when the touring element of the park is closed between October and March.”
