An inquest has opened into the death of a Ryde woman who died a day after undergoing cosmetic surgery in Turkey.
The inquest into the death of Karen Squires was opened at the Isle of Wight Coroner’s Court in Newport today (Wednesday).
The 65-year-old of Jubilee Place in Ryde, underwent a cosmetic surgery in Turkey on 13th January.
Shortly after the procedure, Squires become unwell and her condition rapidly deteriorated. Sadly, Ms Squires died the following day.
A post-mortem examination, completed on 5th February, gave a provisional cause of death as multiple organ failure, abdominoplasty, bilateral mastoplasty, small intestinal and right colon ischemia, and hypertension due to advanced alcoholic liver cirrhosis.
HM Senior Coroner for the Isle of Wight Caroline Sumeray adjourned the hearing until the provisional date of 7th December.
