I hope the miles of green houses that produce island Tomatoes are ok, they have have a new crop planted and its vital they have a good supply of water.
Wight salads that employ many foreign workers along with some local workers produce the best Tomatoes in the country, I believe the company is now called Pearsons..
literally who asked?
I can assure you, they are using rainwater and borehole water for organic production and recirculation water for non-organic production. No drinking otherwise called ‘mains water’ being used to irrigate those crops.
They use there own reservoir and who cares about the tomatoes of a multi million pound business
Perhaps those who work for this business. After all, at least 50 local people work for them and they are looking for local people continuously. Not a lot of these left on the island.
Multi millions of people who eat their tomatoes I would venture!!!!!!
nwo – you aren’t the brightest are you – without companies like this, producing significant quantities of tomatoes, there would be far less of this fruit available and as such the prices of it would increase. This translates into anything you buy in the shops that contains tomato, going up in price.
and don’t say grow your own, as this is not an option for the millions of people who live in flats or houses without gardens.
if everyone took your attitude, then no one would bother to enter the agricultural industry and the food supplies of the world would dwindle and we would all starve – unless of course you like eating dirt and grass.
I wouldn’t like to be out looking for leaks and fixing them in this deluge. Well done to the utility workers. I know it’s their job but not easy in such difficult conditions.
I thought we were talking about tomatoes not leeks.
Wonder if it’s in Arreton where they are relaying cable.
Could it possibly be the new housing development at the old Branston farm school. Maybe hit a pipe.
My waters fine now.
. My friend Darren said, they have barely got enough to survive on and makes it.
