Hovertravel has once again been forced to suspend its Ryde-Southsea service due to adverse conditions, as the weather starts to deteriorate ahead of the arrival of Storm Eunice.
The cross-Solent operator says that services have been cancelled and that an update will be provided at 14:30.
Customers with tickets for the hovercraft are able to use them on Wightlink’s Fastcat service from Ryde Pier Head to Portsmouth Harbour.
As previously reported by Island Echo, an amber weather warning has been issued by the IW Met Service for Friday. Storm Eunice is likely to bring winds of around 90mph to our shores. It is highly likely that Hovertravel’s service will be severely disrupted over the coming days.
UPDATE @ 18:30 – Hovertravel has confirmed that services will remain suspended for the rest of the day.
The next update will be at 05:45 tomorrow.

I wish the sort on their hollibobs who risk their children’s lives on our beaches in a storm, in February, would hover off. One kid sucked under the ‘gut’ on Ventnor beach yesterday and her dad said, ‘The sea just came in and out.. We could not stop it…’ She was about seven years old.
So many ‘stupid’ people about now. If their not on the beaches risking their kids lives they’re driving a motor vehicle on the roads!!!
