Red Funnel ambassador Keegan Brown claimed international silverware in Las Vegas before reaching the final of the televised MODUS Super Series Double Trouble Week.
Brown earned his place at the prestigious WDF World Masters after finishing runner-up at the Toronto Area Open earlier this year. Competing against some of the world’s best players in Las Vegas, he won 2 of his 4 group matches, narrowly missing out on a place in the knockout stages.
Although his singles campaign ended in the group phase, Brown left the United States with silverware after teaming up with Canadian star Jeff Smith to win the WDF World Open Pairs title, as well as the ADO Cricket event, capping off a successful week on the international stage.
Returning to England full of confidence, Brown was back in action at the MODUS Super Series, taking part in the popular Double Trouble Week, where players must hit a double before they can begin scoring in each leg.
Producing consistently high-quality performances throughout the week, Brown secured his place on Saturday’s Finals Night alongside an experienced field featuring Neil Duff, Steve West, Simon Whitlock, Fallon Sherrock and Scott Mitchell.
Brown opened Finals Night with a deciding-leg victory over Simon Whitlock before narrowly losing 4-3 to Neil Duff in the group stage. He then edged past Steve West in another last-leg thriller to book his place in the final.
A rematch with Duff awaited in the title decider, with Brown once again pushing his opponent all the way before eventually finishing runner-up following another hard-fought 4-3 defeat.
Reflecting on a memorable fortnight, Brown said:
“It has been a really good couple of weeks, both in Las Vegas and Portsmouth. There was the odd 10-hour flight across the Atlantic in between, but it was certainly worth it.”
Brown also thanked those who helped make his trip to the United States possible.
