Gritters will be out in force once again this afternoon (Monday) and tomorrow morning (Tuesday) as the cold weather continues to grab hold of the Island.
Island Roads will be out and about at 14:00 this afternoon treating wet spots on the roads.
Normal gritting routes will be treated tomorrow morning at around 05:00 before the morning rush hour.
It looks as if the gritters will be needed for at least a few more days with lower-than-freezing temperatures expected on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week.
To find a list of all the Island's gritting routes, you can visit our dedicated Isle of Wight Gritting Routes & Winter Maintenance page.

no need to look up routes, just think main bus routes and as usual no treatment of pavements so obviously pedestrians safety doesn’t matter.
Quick reminder to dog walkers, if you walk your dog through the salt they throw over our roads it’s a good idea to wipe your dogs feet upon retuning home.
