The whole site needs to be turned into a refuge for the Homeless. Then, the disruptive element would not be under the same roof as the decent people. Yet the whole place could be closely monitored and any trouble confined to one area, not spread over the Isle.
Far easier to then police and have CCTV on all the entry and exit points.
If you or I were homeless, we would not turn vile, and many don’t, but forcing all to live under the same roof is unfair.
By providing caravans, those who prefer to live roughly could and those who prefer a decent home could attain that too.
This site is out of the way so ideal choice.
It is a good idea to house all homeless in one area, yet in individual caravans so they can live in whichever way they choose without impacting upon other homeless people’s standards of living.
Yet the rear of the site would need to be completely and securely fenced off, as it is near the High School.
Then it would be a decent site for such, as has rail, bus, and cycle track nearby, so those who did find work could do so easily to hopefully pick themselves up, and those who didn’t wish to try could be kept cheaply and live how they desire in their own squalor.
A win win for all I would wager. It may raise the standard now!
You obviously don’t live local to this site like I do , sure you’d have a different opinion then . The site is 99%full of people just enjoying life like everyone else
How about you open your arms and let them all move in with you Mandy !! Nothing wrong with the site as it is , numpty !!
The majority of people living on this site are decent and law abiding, many of whom are elderly. Reading through articles in the Island Echo and the County Press constantly, there are far more drug dealers and criminals out there in the community than living on this site. Don’t be so ignorantly shallow Mandy!! In the most affluent parts of all cities the world over there are thugs and law breakers. It would be interesting to know your age and experience of life!!
Drugs?????? Filth, the lot of them who were involved in this incident.
If a weapon was involved it should be a mandatory life sentence.
What we need to ask ourselves is WHY would anyone target a run down tired caravan park in LAKE of all places to rob UNLESS they knew it contained something worth taking.
Seems to me that the whole thing is drugs or crime cash, as it is the last place one would expect to gain much wealth from UNLESS in the know.
So my guess is someone bought a lot of drugs for cash from the resident or accociates and then thought they would keep the drugs and take their money back too.
Hence the gun.
Nothing to fear, a week for the robbery and a week more for having a gun.
Back out to continue the misery and cost for society soon.
they were all known to each other –
easy to work out – someone was trying to mug someone else off, who wasn’t going to let that happen, or someone had realised that a large amount of cash/drugs were in that caravan and they were going to relieve the occupant of the burden of looking after the cash/drugs even if they protested – hence the gun
Wasters, the lot of them. All to do with DRUGS no doubt. They are young men, they should find themselves decent jobs and make something if their lives instead they are on a ticket to prison before too long.
