A charity fun run saw over 200 people dashing and splashing between Shanklin and Yaverland this afternoon (Saturday), raising much needed funds for the Sandown & Shanklin Independent Lifeboat.
Fundraisers set off from the old Shanklin Pier at 14:45, rapidly making their way across The Bay through and around a total of 43 groynes before crossing the finish line at Yaverland, where medals were handed out to all participants.
It is the second time the 5km Shanklin and Sandown Rotary Club-organised fun run has been held, following the success of the inaugural event in 2015.
Recipients of the funds raised, Sandown and Shanklin Independent Lifeboat, were on the water ensuring the safety of the event.
