A dog grooming business with services including bathing, drying and clipping will open in an Isle of Wight seaside town.
County Hall has given Nicola Butler of Coastal Canine Spa Co. permission to establish a studio within a timber garden cabin at 12 Magdalen Crescent in Cowes.
The firm has set an opening date of 8th June in a social media post.
Planners concluded the outbuilding’s use as a dog grooming business would not be materially harmful to the living conditions of neighbours in regard to noise and disturbance.
The premises will operate on an ‘appointment-only’ basis involving one dog at a time and a maximum of 3 to 4 per day.
It will operate from Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 17:00, with no evening hours and ‘occasional Saturday mornings’ – only if required, according to Mrs Butler’s application form.
It said:
“No external alterations, no new access, no additional hard‑standing and no changes to the street scene are proposed.
“The business will be low‑impact, with clients parking on the existing driveway, and no employees, signage or outdoor activity.”
