Repairs to fix the second leak in a week on East Cowes’ Clarence Road will take place tonight (Tuesday).
Southern Water says that the leak, located just 200 yards from the previous leak, should not involve another road closure.
East Cowes has been the focus of much attention in previous weeks due to the multitude of roadworks being undertaken and the traffic bedlam that has been plaguing the town as a result.
The water leak is situated on one of the main parts of the diversion which is currently in place to assist in the York Avenue resurfacing works.
The utility firm says that temporary traffic lights will be erected this evening, with work due to begin at 19:00.
