There is a whole host of events planned this week at libraries across the Isle of Wight in celebration of National Libraries Week.

Libraries Week is a week-long celebration of the nation’s much-loved libraries, this year highlighting the different ways they can help people of all ages through digital support, services and activities.

Throughout the week activities with a digital focus for adults and young people will be on offer including coding clubs, building a library of the future at Lego Club, and an introduction to digital skills, with an hour of FREE one-to-one computer help at Sandown Library.

Council Libraries manager, Rob Jones, said:

“We have a brilliant programme of activities during Libraries Week that we hope will bring the community together and find out more about all the ways we can help people through digital support and services to get connected, get creative and learn new skills. Everyone is welcome and the library is free to join.”

The Library Service has a whole host of digital magazines, books, music and newspapers available online through dedicated apps and you can sign up by simply becoming a library member, then downloading the relevant app.
