The team behind Auxilium – a safe and secure online database providing important information about you to the emergency services – are meeting with the Islands MP, Andrew Turner today (Monday) to discuss the provision of an Auxilium System number to every Island resident for free until the end of 2017.
The Auxilium System provides a safe and secure online database providing importing information about you to the emergency services in an emergency situation, when you can’t.
The idea came about following several accidents that occurred in a short space of time – on each occasion information about the patient and also of the next of kin were unavailable. Tragically, a young girl was knocked off her bike outside her school, the office was closed and therefore no one was able to inform her parents and she tragically died before they could be contacted.
Creator of the system, Grant Moreton, felt that there must be a better way. He knew that there are ‘memory aids’ and ‘id tags’ on the market but nothing that everyone could have as cheaply as possible to provide that vital information to the emergency services in an emergency. So, in collaboration with Chris Rowe, the duo designed and developed The Auxilium System.
Each Auxilium account holder is given a unique number and completes their information on the database eg name, contacts, next of kin, medicines, ailments and illnesses. In order to keep costs as low as possible The Auxilium System provides the number in the form of an image – it is then up to you how you want to display it. On your phone as a background, ICE number, keyring fob, dog tag, car sticker, children’s backpack tag, car bumper sticker etc.
The system costs just a £1 per year which includes as many changes to your data as you want. However, in conjunction with the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service, the Auxilium System is aiming to give every resident on the Isle of Wight a free number until the end of 2017.
