Police are appealing for information following a burglary in Shide this week, in which jewellery was stolen.
Sometime between 17:00 and 17:30 on Tuesday (9th August) the Unknown offender(s) forced entry to an address in the Shide area of Newport.
Once inside they took a number of items of jewellery including engagement rings, an eternity ring, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, a ladies watch, a mans watch and costume jewellery.
Detective Constable Katy Lee, said:
“I am appealing for witnesses who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the Shide area of Newport between 5pm and 7.30pm on Tuesday, August 9. The offender/s made off with a number of items of jewellery as well as a blue / grey ladies satchel which may have been used to carry the other stolen items away.
“Did you see anyone carrying a bag of this description? Have you seen anyone trying to sell jewellery that seems unusual or suspicious? I would urge anyone with information to get in touch as soon as possible.”
