An amazing £3,500 has been raised by Islanders following a quiz and raffle night in memory of 6-year-old Keziah Flux-Edmonds.
The local community came together at The Prince of Wales pub in East Cowes on Wednesday night to raise funds towards a memorial garden in memory of Queensgate Primary School pupil Keziah, who tragically died last week after being found alongside the body of her father, Darren Flux-Edmonds.
A total of £3435 was raised on the night with more donations expected to flood via collection buckets and with further events planned. Prizes for the raffle were donated by local individuals and businesses and included 4 Isle of Wight Festival tickets.
Barratt Homes – developers of the Hawthorn Meadows estate where Keziah lived – have said they will work in an area into their plans where a garden can be created, creating a lasting memorial to the much-loved girl.
Nikki, Keziah’s mum, yesterday paid tribute to her daughter who “loved life and had so much to give”.
