Community groups, organisations and businesses in Ryde are being invited to apply for a share of £100,000 in funding through a new grants programme.
Ryde Neighbourhood Board has launched the scheme as part of the Government’s Pride in Place initiative, which will see £19.5million invested in the town over the next decade.
Applications of up to £20,000 are being sought for projects that will improve life in Ryde, with at least £100,000 expected to be made available in future years.
The 2026 grants programme aims to support initiatives that harness the ideas and commitment of local people while helping the community thrive for years to come.
Funding is available for projects that:
- improve public safety, health and wellbeing;
- increase access to learning opportunities;
- strengthen volunteering opportunities;
- enhance sport, recreation and culture;
- improve Ryde’s natural and built environment; or
- support local businesses and employment.
Rachael Randall, acting chair of Ryde Neighbourhood Board and chair of the board’s finance committee, said:
“The launch of these grants marks an exciting milestone for the Pride in Place programme and, more importantly, for the Ryde community.
“Pride in Place will bring significant investment into the town to help improve Ryde and make life even better for residents and visitors. The board has taken the necessary time to ensure the right structures are in place to meet Government requirements and deliver this funding effectively, and we are delighted to now be ready to unlock financial support that can lead to real, lasting improvements.
“We know there is already a great deal of inspiring work taking place across the community to improve Ryde and the lives of its residents. This new funding can support even more projects and initiatives, and we look forward to seeing your ideas and proposals.”
Applications close at midnight on Monday 17th August.
Following assessment, successful bids will be ratified by Ryde Neighbourhood Board at its September meeting.
The community grants programme is one of several funding streams available through Pride in Place, with a total of £742,000 available during the current financial year to support projects in the town.
