A 21-year-old Islander is hoping to sail through the semi-finals of the Miss England competition next week, but she needs the support of her local community to help make that happen.
Yasmin Black, a sales executive from Ventnor, is the current Miss Isle of Wight but is hoping to go through to the Grand Final of the nationwide Miss England competition and bring her crown back to the Island. To get there, Yasmin needs to gain public votes during the semi-final stage, as well as heading to Kelham Hall & Country Park in Nottinghamshire on Saturday 11th June.
As part of the Miss England semi finals, Yasmin and 3 fellow Hampshire beauty queens are raising money for Beauty with a Purpose, creating eco outfits and much more in aid of disadvantaged children. To assist their fundraising efforts, Yasmin joined Channon Kail (Miss Hampshire 2015); Isobelle Cooper (Miss Southampton 2016) and Larissa Hirst (Miss Hampshire 2015) in running the ABP Southampton 10k in April, raising £200 for the charity.
