As of October 2018 some 873 women in their 50s and 60s had contemplated suicide after being left destitute as changes to the state pension age left huge holes in their finances, and that was only the recorded ones through the 50s women’s organisations. That rate has now risen considerably and yet the cause is often not attributed to the slow demise of their health and mental wellbeing. Possibly not the case here, but every time it happens, I wonder.
and others, who have not had over twenty years notice of the changes to state pensions are contemplating suicide in far larger numbers.
There are many men, who do not have savings, who do not have pensions and are in their 50’s and 60’s who are being made redundant and left destitute with large holes in their finances. What about them – they have to wait until 66 to get a state pension.
This is equality – no discrimination against men
