A main route out of Newport has been closed this afternoon (Sunday) following a burst water main.
Forest Road has been closed between Gunville Road and Betty Haunt Lane, following the incident at around 16:00.
Police were called to the scene and were directing traffic around the burst site – outside the former Snows Garage.
Southern Water engineers are on scene where a section of the carrigeway has been lifted up.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary are set to leave the scene in due course.
