Thousands of spectators lined the streets of Ryde on Saturday evening as the Isle of Wight’s carnival season came to a spectacular close with the annual Illuminated Carnival.
The late-evening procession saw a host of brightly lit and colourful entries make their way through the town, creating a lively atmosphere as crowds gathered to watch the spectacle.
Ryde Illuminated Carnival is widely regarded as one of the biggest and best carnival events on the Island, with thousands of people turning out each year for the final procession of the season.
The event began with entries assembling from 19:00 at the Esplanade and Canoe Lake, before judging took place at 19:30.
The procession then got underway at 20:30, with the illuminated entries making their way through the streets of Ryde as darkness fell.
With the carnival season now over for another year, Ryde once again provided a spectacular finale.
