A major multi-agency response was launched off Osborne Bay over the weekend (Sunday) after a woman suffered a medical emergency aboard a vessel.
During the early hours of Sunday, officers were contacted by HM Coastguard who had been called to a vessel moored off Osborne Bay after a woman suffered a medical episode.
The patient was brought ashore following rescue efforts by Cowes RNLI and HM Coastguard, however despite the best efforts of paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service, she was pronounced dead.
Police confirmed that the woman’s next of kin are aware.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
