Strong winds have led to Hovertravel’s service between Ryde and Southsea being cancelled once again this morning (Tuesday).
The adverse weather has forced the cross-Solent operator to halt their service as the Flyer craft are unable to operate in such conditions.
An update is expected at 08:30 but, as seen in recent days, it is possible operations will not resume at this time.
Passengers looking to travel between Ryde and Portsmouth should divert via Wightlink’s catamaran service.
All other cross-Solent travel is running to timetable.
UPDATE – Services will resume at 10:15 from Ryde.

Glad the weather still controls the Islands link to the mainland. Keep many, many undesirables from ‘moving here’ when it is both disruptive and costly to leave.
Think of all those victims in Austria, a narrow stretch of water can be a ‘blessing in disguise’
A most terrible happening, yet like those having their head’s detached in their own land in France, all kept as low key as possible my the media now.
Yet one white cop accidently over restrains, in fear of himself being killed or harmed by one of ‘those who are always blameless’, despite being a crim, and the world never will be allowed to forget.
So yes agree that expensive little bit of water buys us a slower deterioration of our loved ones safety levels, yet P enny F eather et al, could ‘change’ all that forever, as many tenants will be from over full city cast offs, as our council are paid to take such, and therefore will.
We must vote them all OUT next given chance, as it will be us, not they, who will live miles away from the dregs they inflict on others.
