Wightlink is offering free travel for dads this Father’s Day, allowing families to enjoy a day out between the Isle of Wight and the mainland without paying for one foot passenger fare.
The special promotion will run on 21st June and applies to day return foot passenger tickets on the Portsmouth Harbour-Ryde Pier Head and Lymington-Yarmouth routes.
Under the offer, 1 dad can travel free when accompanied by at least 1 paying passenger. No booking is required, and tickets are available from Wightlink Customer Service Points on the day.
The offer is valid in both directions, meaning Island families can head to the mainland for the day, while visitors can also make the most of a Father’s Day trip to the Isle of Wight.
David Williams, Wightlink’s Head of Marketing, said:
“Father’s Day is about spending quality time together and creating memories.
“With fantastic destinations on both sides of the Solent, we’re delighted to help families enjoy a special day out by giving dads the chance to travel free.”
Visitors arriving at Ryde Pier Head can take advantage of Southern Vectis bus connections to attractions across the Island, including the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary and the Isle of Wight Bus and Coach Museum.
Those travelling via Yarmouth can easily explore the west of the Island, with attractions such as The Needles, Alum Bay, Dimbola Museum and Galleries and Farringford Gardens all within easy reach.
The Father’s Day promotion is available on 21st June 2026 (fathers day) only and is limited to foot passenger travel.
