Warren Farm in Alum Bay is set to welcome the local community for a free family-friendly open day celebrating farming, food production and the countryside, whilst raising funds for Mountbatten Hospice.
The popular Isle of Wight farm will throw open its gates on Sunday (7th June) as part of the national Open Farm Sunday initiative, giving visitors the chance to step behind the scenes of a working dairy farm.
Running from 08:30 until 14:00, the event will feature a packed programme of hands-on activities, demonstrations and opportunities to meet farm animals.
Visitors will be able to watch cows being milked, meet the farm’s cows and sheep, take part in guided farm tours and get up close to tractors and farm machinery.
Children can also enjoy a range of family-friendly activities designed to encourage curiosity about farming and the natural environment.
Food and drink will play a major part in the day, with visitors invited to make their own milkshakes, sample Warren Farm ice cream and enjoy hot food from Fat Shaun.
The farm shop will also be open throughout the event, selling Warren Farm produce alongside goods from a range of other Isle of Wight producers.
Organisers are encouraging guests to dress appropriately for the weather and wear sturdy footwear, as activities will take place across outdoor farm areas.
Free parking will be available on site.
This year’s event will also support Mountbatten Hospice, with donations invited throughout the day to help fund end-of-life care services for Island residents and their families.
