Lucy Johnson, owner of Isle Book-keep, was recently crowned Sole Practitioner of the Year at Xero’s prestigious annual awards.
Hosted by Alexander Von Schirmeister, Xero UK & EMEA Managing Director, the awards showcased the achievements of those supporting businesses through 2 of the toughest years on record.
Accountants, book-keepers and the app industry have played a huge role in guiding their small business clients through the pandemic and supporting the wider economy. Xero research shows 61% of small businesses said their accountant supports them in key areas they struggle with. Separate Xero research shows that small businesses using apps had more resilient sales and job growth than those that weren’t.
Isle Book-keep was established in April 2021 by andown-based Lucy Johnson. Over the past 12 months, she has worked tirelessly to grow the business and support as many business owners across the UK with Book-keeping and Accountancy to help their businesses to grow too.
The Isle of Wight business has been a finalist in 4 awards within the last 12 months alone, with a lot of spotlight on the environmental impact they are making. The business plants trees as they onboard clients and hit certain milestones (300 to date), as well as reducing clients’ needs to print paperwork and support them through these processes. Lucy has appeared on expert Accountancy panels throughout the year on YouTube.
Alex von Schirmeister, UK & EMEA Managing Director at Xero, said:
“Accountants and book-keepers have been the backbone of our small business economy over the last few years. We’ve heard so many stories of our partners going above and beyond to guide businesses through tough times, which is why it’s so important to celebrate the amazing work of the industry.”
Lucy has commented on the win saying:
“To win a Xero award within just 12 months of starting my business is an absolute dream. We use Xero every single day for our clients and I am so excited for what the future has to bring for Isle Book-keep!”
Well done Lucy, lots of hard work.
You deserve it.
