Emeargency crews on scene on Fairlee Road this afternoon (Monday) following a road traffic collision.
Police and paramedics are on scene on North Fairlee Road, near Binfield, where a road traffic collision has occurred. The first 999 call reporting the crash was made at around 14:00.
At the scene, a Toyota Aygo and a VW Sharan have collided with one another, leaving both vehicles with significant damage. Airbags on the Toyota have been deployed.
Fairlee Road and the surrounding area is busier than usual today due to people leaving the Isle of Wight Festival.
The temporary one-way restriction on the road had not long been lifted when the collision happened, Island Echo understands.
Southern Vectis route 5 buses heading toward Newport are diverting via Lushington Hill, Station Road, and Staplers until further notice.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area whilst the incident is dealt with.

UPDATE @ 14:55 – Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that they were called at around 14:23 to reports of a collision involving 2 vehicles.
Minor injuries have been reported.
Fairlee Road is currently blocked in both directions between Racecourse and Medina College.
