A bathing water alert has been issued for Totland Bay and Colwell Bay – less than 24 hours after a similar warning was put in place for Ryde beach.
The Environment Agency has advised against bathing and swimming in and around Totland Bay and Colwell Bay following a water pollution incident.
The latest warning comes after a separate bathing alert was issued for Ryde yesterday, raising further concerns about water quality at several Isle of Wight beaches.
People are being urged to avoid direct contact with contaminated water, which may contain bacteria and viruses capable of causing illness.
Anyone who does come into contact with the water is advised to wash thoroughly with soap and water, as hand sanitiser does not kill all viruses that may be present.
Children and animals should also be kept out of the sea while the alert remains in place.

I was taken to hospital last august with a severe urine infection,passing a lot of blood,after a lot of tests,it was determined that i ingested particle faeces,at one point the docs thought i had sepsis,i got it from going for a swim in the sea,at totland beach,before that,i hadnt been in the sea for years,totland has a sewage pumping station next to the public toilets,even though the water looks clear,do not swim there whatsoever!

This is what happens when a government that doesn’t care about the people out here in the real world, allow water companies who have screwed us for treating the water but didn’t, to dump raw sewerage into the sea
This is so Wrong on all counts in 2026 yet still they are paying vulgar bonuses to Southern water bosses, when they should be behind bars for these scandals, how much longer is this going to be allowed to happen?
