Police have closed the main road between Ryde and Nettlestone this morning (Saturday) due to a tree which has fallen across the carriageway.
Pondwell Hill has been closed between the junction with Bullen Road and Gregory Avenue as a result of the obstruction.
The road is completely blocked by the large tree, which has come crashing down amid stormy weather conditions.
Local traffic can use Gregory Avenue to divert around the closure, or alternatively Oakhill Road and The Duver into Seaview.
Island Roads has been made aware of the incident and has instructed contractors to clear the debris.

Well done nature – THAT WILL STOP NUMPTIES SPEEDING
Lol
Maybe leave it there, speeding problem in that location
solved.
THE AUTHORITIES WE PAY FOR CANNOT STOP NUMPTIES
SPEEDING, makes one wonder what we actually pay them for!
This story has nothing to do with speeding. Stop shoehorning your own agenda into everything.
No it doesn’t but nature shows how to create
Low Traffic Neighbourhood’s.
“It sure stops numpties speeding”
I personally would like to see safet roads, obviously
you don’t!
Bless
The island is such a dinosaur, the island is still
50 years behind the mainland.

Pompey and Soton etc are with the agenda.
