REFEREE’S DECISION LEADS TO DRAW FOR BAYERN BRU

fcbayernbruFC Bayern Bru started with 3 new players in the squad when they took on FC Sporting at Beatrice Avenue in the Leisure Leagues yesterday, falling behind 0-1 at half time following a deflected goal from sporting midway through the first half.

Having rallied at half time, the Bayern team quickly responded and in quick fashion produced 2 fine solo goals from the Bru new boys Shane Smith and then the lead through from Andy Pottage.

With 5 minutes remaining Bayern Bru thought the game was safe when suddenly Antony Guillet scored from just outside the box, however the referee wrongly disallowed the goal as having been taken from inside the FC Sporting goalkeepers area meaning the score remained a tight 2-1 to Bayern Bru.

Deep into added time, insult was added to injury when the referee gave what looked like a very harsh penalty to FC Sporting after Bayern Bru Captain Scott Mussell was judged to of infringed his own goalkeepers area. Sporting converted the penalty to make the score 2-2 and share the points with the very last kick of the game.

Following the game FC Bayern Bru Manager Stuart Brown shared his disappointment and praised his players saying:

“Every one of our players gave 110% today. We should have a 3-1win but due to very harsh decisions we walk away with a 2-2 draw.

“It’s gutting to lose the result with the last kick of the game but we must pick ourselves up quickly to begin perpetration for the next league game in a fortnight”
