Red Funnel has launched a new travel sponsorship programme for 2023, supporting the talents of Isle of Wight residents.
Applications are now open for talented individuals through to small groups living on the Island, who would benefit from sponsored travel as part of the Red Funnel Island Ambassador programme.
Through this initiative, Red Funnel looks to celebrate and enhance the many great achievements of the Isle of Wight community, aiding the transition from local to national competition and status through travel sponsorship.
12 Red Funnel Island Ambassadors will be selected for travel sponsorship over 12 months, aiding training, competition, performance, and events off-Island. Ambassadors can be individuals or a group of up to 6 – all Island residents. Aside from the Ambassador programme, Isle of Wight groups and clubs made up of 6 or more people can apply to become a Red Funnel Sponsored Team, with application due to open in the coming weeks.
Fran Collins, CEO of Red Funnel, said:
“We’re dedicated to supporting the Isle of Wight community, recognising great talent demonstrated by Island residents across a wide range of sectors. Whether you’re a musician, gymnast, photographer, performer, dancer, surfer, biker, show jumper, comedian or other, we want to know about your passion and encourage you to apply to become a Red Funnel Island Ambassador.”
Applications for the programme are open to all ages and talents from Monday 10th October until Friday 11th November 2022.
Applicants must live on the Isle of Wight, have already pursued their passion to a high level on the Island and are now looking to take that next step across the water to compete or perform at county or national level. As part of this travel sponsorship, Red Funnel will support off-Island travel requirements for competitions, events, and performances to help take Islanders’ passions from local to national level.
To apply, visit Proud to Support on the Red Funnel website where you will find all T&Cs and applications for becoming an Island Ambassador, as well as future application for teams.
