Gritters will continue to treat the Island’s roads today (Thursday) ahead of a cold overnight period which could see temperatures reach as low as -8c.
Crews from Island Roads will be out on the precautionary routes from 15:00 this afternoon and will offer a boost on any newfound wet spots at 05:00 on Friday morning.
Bridge decks at Stag Lane and Foxes Road will also be treated.
Earlier today, local weather forecaster IW Met Service warned that overnight conditions could drop to -8c with the chance of freezing fog setting in tomorrow morning.
Island Roads has advised motorists to drive according to the conditions.
