Stupid drivers…. Frosty mornings…
Prehaps was a family man driving home apparently makes a diffrence to some commenters..
Was this road gritted overnight?
What grit or salt haven’t seen any gritters around our way
(copy – pasted)
The gritting process doesn’t magically turn the tarmac into hot, dry, sticky summer tarmac. It actually adds a viscous layer which is quite slippery, it’s just less slippery than thick frost or ice. People still need to think, slow down and drive to the conditions!
Haven’t seen any gritted roads.
Drive to the conditions. Do not expect grit will stop you sliding.
Was the driver listening to the many warnings of dangerous roads?
Spoke to police at the scene they said this is the eighth today..numpties driving too fast for the road conditions
Rolling two cars, so obviously old folks speeding and driving recklessly in bad conditions at fault again.
Amazing how people still manage to crash given the vast amount of armchair road traffic accident experts we have on the island. They reckon they know exactly how an accident has happened without the need to be there, which must make the police feel really silly with all their expertise, training and equipment.
Of course, I actually hope the drivers involved in all the incidents are OK. Quite often an accident is precisely that – a set of unfortunate circumstances leading to an unavoidable and inevitable conclusion. It can happen to the best of us. Not every accident is someone being an idiot.
