The Bank of England visited Hovertravel in Ryde yesterday (Monday), showcasing the brand new £5 note to both staff and customers.
The New Fiver is the first Bank of England note to be made of polymer, a thin flexible plastic. The note will look different with a number of new features including a see-through window and a portrait of Sir Winston Churchill.
The Bank is taking The New Fiver on the road around the UK between June and September to allow the public to experience the note first hand.
The note will be issued on 13th September this year.
