Carisbrooke College – an Academy within the HISP Multi Academy Trust – is delighted to announce the permanent appointment of Natalie Sheppard as Headteacher.
With a proven track record of leadership across both primary and secondary education, Natalie brings a wealth of experience and a passionate commitment to student success.
Natalie Sheppard says:
“I am incredibly excited to take on the role of permanent Headteacher at Carisbrooke College. Our core values – Equity, Pupils First, Courage, Ambition, Excellence, and Sustainability – are central to our mission to become a true centre of teaching excellence.”
With previous leadership roles in London and Portsmouth, Natalie has spearheaded major initiatives including the development of a Microsoft Showcase School and expanding alternative provision tailored to individual student needs. Natalie’s focus has always been on ensuring every child receives the best education.
Carisbrooke College is also proud to play a leading role in training the next generation of teachers and leaders through its island-based HISP training hub.
Natalie added:
“We are inspired by our commitment to work on the Island, for the Island, in strong partnership with the local authority, other schools, and local businesses. I am immensely proud of the Carisbrooke community and look forward to working collaboratively to ensure that, at Carisbrooke, Education is our Castle.”
Jo McKeown, Executive Director of Education at HISP MAT commented:
“We, as a Trust, are excited at the permanent appointment of Natalie Sheppard to the role of Headteacher for Carisbrooke College. Natalie has been leading the school since July 2024 as Interim Executive Headteacher and has ensured that strong foundations are in place to be built upon.
“We are confident that Natalie, along with the leadership team, will now drive forward, at pace, the progress, opportunities and experiences that our young people will make and have.”
Natalie sounds exactly what the island needs
a teacher with mainland experience.
You’re an expert on education now? You know nothing, especially about this.
Academy, it’s a school for goodness sake with dubious funding.
