The replica of the historic ship Nao Santa María will be docking at Trinity Landing in Cowes next week, offering visitors the chance to step aboard and explore a vessel that brings the story of the discovery of America to life.
This will be the first time the Nao Santa María has visited Cowes, following more than 3 years touring the United States with stops in cities including New York, Miami and Puerto Rico.
Before it visits Cowes, the replica galleon will fire its salute from 14:00 – 15:00, between St Lawrence and Bonchurch.
Open daily from 10:00 to 20:00 between 22nd – 26th May, the floating museum gives visitors a chance to walk its decks and experience how sailors once lived and travelled across the oceans.
Organisers are encouraging people to book tickets in advance via www.tickets.naosantamaria.org due to expected high demand. Associations and school groups are invited to arrange visits by emailing [email protected].
Ticket prices are as follows:
- Adults: £10
- Children (5-10 years): £5
- Family ticket (2 adults + up to 3 children aged 5-10): £25
- Children under 5: Free (must be accompanied by an adult)
Visitors interested in sailing aboard the Nao Santa María can find voyage opportunities at the Tall Ship Experience website.

No mention of it sailing past Ventnor on the 21st and exchanging fire

I saw it last year at Cowes Esplanade.
