Alan Edwards, a big name in British music public relations, who worked with artists such as David Bowie, the Spice Girls and the Rolling Stones, is to launch his new book at Dimbola Museum and Galleries next week.
Alan will be launching his book ‘I Was There – Dispatches from a Life in Rock and Roll – on Wednesday (18th June).
Sponsored by Mermaid Gin, the evening will begin with welcoming drinks at 18:00, followed by a talk by Alan. There will be a Q&A session, moderated by Tom Stroud. There will also be a book signing.
‘I Was There’ chronicles Alan’s work in PR from the beginning in the 1970s to the present day, including collaborating with David Bowie for around 40 years.
Alan’s company The Outside Organisation handle some PR for John Giddings’ artistes, including The Corrs, who will be on the Island at the time of the book launch, for the Isle of Wight Festival, and John has said he will attend the book lauch at Dimbola.
Previously, Alan did the PR for the Experience 25 Isle of Wight Festival Exhibition at the O2 in London last Autumn following its successful run on the Island.
