Pupils at Dover Park Primary School recently enjoyed a week packed with music, drama and artistic activities as the Ryde-based school celebrated creativity and community spirit.
The action-filled final week of term saw children take part in a wide range of performances, workshops and arts experiences designed to bring the school’s core values to life.
The school says the activities encouraged pupils to enjoy their learning, belong to their community and believe in themselves.
As part of the celebrations, Dover Park hosted a Sing Up festival bringing together children from The Priory, Nettlestone Primary, Greenmount Primary and Gatten and Lake Primary schools.
The youngsters performed together in front of an audience of parents, carers, family members and friends.
Music activities also continued inside the classrooms, with Reception and Year 1 pupils inviting parents into school for hands-on music workshops.
Older pupils were also given the opportunity to experience the Island’s wider arts scene. Year 6 pupils visited Lift Ryde for a cabaret performance designed to inspire them as they prepare for the next stage of their education.
Meanwhile, Years 4 and 5 travelled to Department to watch Blank Canvas, a performance which encouraged pupils to develop ideas for their own art and acting projects.

“Creativity and enjoyment are at the heart of education at Dover Park and we’re delighted to have had such a fantastic week of artistic enrichment.
“I think it’s important to say a huge thank you to the amazing Debbie Grubb for organising the Sing-Up event and to Lift Ryde and Department for hosting and inspiring our pupils.
“We are extremely grateful to have such a supportive community to provide such fantastic opportunities for our children and to have parents and carers who embrace the school events.”
