3 people remain in Police custody and are being quizzed by detectives on suspicion of murder as enquiries continue into the death of a man in his 30s in Ryde yesterday (Sunday).
Forensic investigators remain on scene at Park Road as they work to piece together the events of yesterday morning’s fatal incident, which has claimed the life of a local man – believed to be a father-of-1.
Smashed glass in the door and front windows of the property at the centre of the investigation is evident.
It was in the early hours, at 03:17, that Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary was alerted to a male having been seriously assaulted on Park Road. Officers responded alongside paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service, but the victim died on the way to hospital.
3 hours later Armed Police were seen surrounding a residential address before leading at least 1 male away in cuffs.
It has been confirmed that a 27-year-old man from Sandown, a 27-year-old man from Ryde and a 24-year-old woman from Shanklin have all been arrested on suspicion of murder. They remain in custody this morning.
Police have yet to confirm how the victim died, or the significance of a vehicle – a red Nissan Pixo – seen dumped in Dover Street within the crime scene. Further details are expected in the coming days.
Cordons in the area have been lifted today and Park Road has re-opened in both directions as normal. However, Police remain at the property.
Police say from their enquiries so far, they believe this was an isolated incident, with those involved known to each other.
