A street in Ryde has been cordoned off as Armed Police move in on a suspect located within a residential property this morning (Sunday).
Several specially trained armed response officers from both sides of the Solent have taken up position around a block of houses on Park Road, opposite the junction with Dover Street.
It’s understood that the incident began during the early hours with detectives and Armed Response called in to assist colleagues with the situation.
However, it remains unclear at this early stage as to what exactly has prompted the significant response.
A small red car can be seen dumped at the side of the road.
Park Road has been closed between Bennet Street and Riboleau Street as a result of the ongoing incident, with a cordon also in force at the top of Dover Street.
Southern Vectis Routes 2, 3 and 8 are unable to serve Ryde Commodore at this time.
UPDATE @ 07:54 – 1 person has been successfully detained by Armed Police this morning.
Cordon remain in situ on Park Road with the road closed in both directions.
Armed Response Officers are now standing down from the incident.
UPDATE @ 17:00 – Police have confirmed that they have launched a murder investigation, arresting 3 people after the death of a man in his 30s.

Who the hell are these ‘dreggs’ in society who now reside on this beautiful island? 3 people arrested, including a woman on suspicion of murder. Lock them up and throw away the key. The only issue for me is, this rubbish costs money to be kept by the taxpayer.
Prisons are FULL of flotsam drifting daily our way, so NEVER again will anything but the most serious crimes give meaningful sentences.
SEE the issue here. It is NOT coincidence since mass arrivals crime has risen dramatically. It occurs over the entire globe wherever such gather en-masse.
