Emergency services including Police, Ambulance crews, HM Coastguard and Cowes RNLI have all responded to an incident at East Cowes seafront tonight (Friday).
1 person – believed to be a woman – is being checked over by paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service after entering the water near to Clarence Road.
The multi-agency response began at around 22:24 with 4 Police vehicles responding into East Cowes at speed, soon followed by an ambulance and duty officer from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service and Coastguard Rescue Teams from Bembridge and Ventnor.
Cowes RNLI lifeboat was tasked to launch at around 22:30.
The incident has been swiftly resolved and emergency teams are now standing down.
The casualty is being conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital by Ambulance.

Poor lady. To contemplate walking into the cold water at night and taking your life is so sad. Hope she gets the help she needs. Well done to all the emergency services involved in rescuing this poor lady.
could have been going for a late night swim and suffered a sudden cold shock when entering the water. Not always attempted suicide.
I wonder if this is the same lady they have rescued before from Sandown twice ? Hope she gets the help she needs
