A man with a hip injury prompted a callout for Bembridge and Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Teams this afternoon (Sunday).
Emergency services including St John’s Ambulance paramedics working on behalf of the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service attended the scene on the beach near to Whitecliff Bay at just after 14:45.
Due to the location of the casualty and the injury sustained, paramedics required assistance from the Coastguard Rescue Officer’s to transport the casulaty from the beach to the awaiting ambulance.
CRO’s helped to package the casualty into a stretcher and carry him the distance to the ambulance in which he was taken to St Mary’s Hospital for treatment for his hip injury.
